How to find that short break away
A little bit about Ocean Grove and Ti-Tree Village
Searching for a short break away can be quite an overwhelming chore. Why, you might ask. First you need to choose your destination. With so many wonderful places to visit in Victoria this can be a task in itself.
Once you have chosen your destination, you then need to find that perfect little hideaway. For most, the next step would be to hit the internet. With quite literally hundreds of properties listed on websites such as Stayz, Trip advisor and individual properties listed on Google this can be a very time consuming search!
If you are like me and have specific requirements for accommodation such as an open fire, self-contained facilities and perhaps a spa bath and of course all the creature comforts of home then your search can be somewhat narrowed down.
In fact, I can narrow that right down to US….Ti-Tree Village in Ocean Grove on The Bellarine Peninsula.
Let me tell you why.
Our Village consists of 19 self-contained log cottages, all with a beautiful open fire and most with a two person spa bath.
Now if I wasn’t one of the owners of our family owned and operated accommodation I would chose our Village. It certainly ticks all my boxes! But then I may be a little biased, and who does that, seriously!
Okay, I’m getting off track! Get back on task Tiffany! Oh, that’s right. My name! I should introduce myself. I’m Tiffany, one of two sisters who operate our family Village. My gorgeous sister is Jodie, and Ruth and Sam, who have collectively been with us for more than 30 years are like sisters to us. We are, albeit it a small, very happy team. We love welcoming new and returning guests to our Village. Many who are like family to us.
I have to give credit to Jod and my parents, Jan and Roger who were the very clever masterminds behind the creation of Ti-Tree Village. It is such a wonderful place to work. Although, I find it hard to call it work. It is more of a lifestyle! Who wouldn’t enjoy coming here every day to be with such a wonderful team and welcome happy guests to our Village most days.
Getting back on track.
We are only a short 5 minute walk to the beautiful golden beach of Ocean Grove, and a short 10 minute walk to the main shopping centre which has an abundance of cafes, boutiques and of course a supermarket!
A short 5 minute drive will land you in Barwon Heads. A stunning little seahaven with restaurants, cafes, boutiques and the Barwon Estuary for those that are keen to drop in a line. Many know Barwon Heads for their part in the television series ‘Sea Change’.
If the Great Ocean Road is on your bucket list of things to do, you will only need to drive 15 minutes to start your journey in Torquay. The perfect day trip.
Or if it is family fun you are looking for, you can’t go past Adventure Park. It is Victoria’s largest theme park, and only a 5 minute drive from our front door! The kids LOVE it. It is seasonal however, operating between the months of October to April.
Well I will leave my first blog there for now. I can’t tell you everything about our precious Bellarine Peninsula in one hit. So watch this space, there is certainly more to come.
